The First Step Is The Hardest

Those of you who know me know I LOVE Casting Crowns. Their music has gotten me through some really rough times. It seems no matter what I'm feeling or going through, they have a song that ministers to me and says exactly what I am feeling but just can't put into words.

Brad is beginning the application process to seminary. He has filled out the application and handed out letters of recommendation. He spoke to someone on the phone yesterday at the extension office and was very encouraged by the conversation. He is hoping to take two classes in the fall.

This is very daunting. We've almost talked ourselves out of it several times and in fact there are voices, both in our heads and literally, that are discouraging us. Past failures are haunting us, but, as this song will say so clearly, we are striving to listen and believe the "Voice Of Truth."

I am so proud of you two I could scream and just about did when I read the blog for today and Pop and I hope we haven't been the ones speaking out loud to stop this if so we didn't mean it that way. We are sooooo glad you are going for it and we are here and now in a spot where we can come and help if need be so turn off the voices it's the BIG D he never likes success and this is one for the LORD!!!!!!

Why is it that the voice that likes to bring up past failures and shortcomings is SO MUCH LOUDER than all the encouraging voices? I believe that you are both seeking the Lord's will.

"Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy god, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." Deut. 31:6

We love you guys and I am praying that our voices will always be encouraging as you follow God, anywhere He leads you.
