Looking back over some of Gogurt's math homework the other night, I came across something very funny. After one of the word problems, he was asked to explain why his answer made sense.
This is, word for word, what he said: "I subtracted 14 from 27. To me, and hopefully to you, this makes sense."
I cracked up when I read this. I do not believe he was trying to be funny. I think he was just stating that this answer made perfect sense to him, and he hoped it did to any of his readers, i.e. the teacher grading it. It is hard to explain why something makes sense to you. And sometimes the best way to do it is to just say what's on your mind and then hope for the best.
